Joseph A. Candito Jr., age 59, of West Haven, entered into rest on Friday, January 20, 2006, in his home. Born in Washington, D.C., he was a Bridgeport resident most of his life before residing in West Haven. Joe was a graduate of Bullard Havens Technical School where he was awarded a track athletic scholarship, he was a U.S. Marine veteran and a Bridgeport firefighter for 15 years. Survivors include his wife, Jamie A. Wallack of West Haven; his mother, Josephine Candito; sisters, Denise Macioce and husband, Michael, of Milford, and Ann Detsikas and husband, Jimmy, of Bridgeport; nieces, Colleen Soleck and Alexandra Detsikas; a nephew, Mark Paradise. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph A. Candito Sr.; and sisters, Ellen Paradise and Marie McDonald. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. (Directly) in St. AndrewNs Church, Anton Street, Bridgeport. Entombment will be in St. MichaelNs Cemetery, Stratford. The Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, has been entrusted with arrangements.
