John R. Pavlick, age 65, of New Milford, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2007 in his home. Mr. Pavlick was born in Bridgeport, to the late John and Doris (Tillyard) Pavlick. He resided in the Bridgeport/Trumbull area in his youth, and then in New Milford for the past 30years. Mr. Pavlick attended Warren Harding High School and was Valedictorian of the Class of 1960. He received his BSEE in 1965 from UConn, where he was a member of the Beta Sigma Gamma Fraternity. In 1970, he received his MSEE also from UConn. He was a member of the Eta Kappa Nu Nat'l Electrical Engineering Honor Society and a lifetime member of the Tau Beta Pi Nat'l Engineering Honor Society. Throughout his career as an electrical engineer, he made significant contributions to the military, aerospace and nuclear power industries through his work with companies such as Perkin Elmer, CBS Labs, Consolidated Controls, Raymond Engineering and Lockheed Martin. An active member of the Train Collectors Association since 1970, he was also the co-founder of the Fairfield County Train Meet from 1980 to 1984, attending local and regional train collector events. Other interests included car restoration and radio control airplanes with his sons. Survivors include his loving wife, Patricia (Collins) Pavlick of New Milford; three sons, John R. Pavlick Jr. of New Milford, James B. Pavlick and his wife, Annie, of Rolling Hills Estates, Calif., and Jason S. Pavlick of New Milford; and a brother, Robert K. Pavlick of Bridgeport.
