RICHARD J. KASPER

Richard J. Kasper, age 64 of Huntington, passed away Monday, September 29, 2008 at Bridgeport Hospital after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family. Richard, vice president of finance for Star Distributors Inc of West Haven, was born in Bridgeport to the late Peter and Martha (Babey) Kasper and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Harding High School and the University of Bridgeport. He was a CPA for Star Distributors for more than 30 years, and was a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Connecticut Society of CPAs, both for 30 years. He was member and officer of the ARS Society for over 35 years, the Milford Striped Bass Club, a former coach of Shelton Little League, Soccer and Biddy Basketball and was a lifelong fan of the Oakland Raiders, New York Yankees and UConn Women's Basketball. Survivors include his beloved wife, Christine Prozeralik Kasper of Huntington; his devoted children, Peter Kasper and his wife, Justina, Sarah Brockett and her husband, David, all of Wallingford and John Kasper of Huntington; three cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Daniel and Lindsay; his sister, Joan Molnar and her husband, Peter of Stratford, his mother-in-law, Annie Prozeralik of Milford; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his father-in-law, John Prozeralik and a special nephew, Chip Molnar. Friends are invited to meet DIRECTLY at the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist, 364 Mill Hill Ave., Bridgeport at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2008. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford. Panachida Friday at 4:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
