Stephen P. Sekelsky, age 60 of Milford, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2009 in his home. Steve, a U.S Army veteran of the Viet Nam War where he received a Purple Heart, was born in Bridgeport to the late Charles and Anna (Pistey) Sekelsky and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Harding High School and was a retired lieutenant for the City of Bridgeport Fire Department with 30 years of service, and also worked as a security officer for the Town of Milford Board of Education at Foran High School. Steve loved his trips to the casinos. Survivors include his beloved wife, Donna Obitz Sekelsky; his devoted son, Stephen C. Sekelsky and his wife, Cory of Wallingford; a cherished granddaughter, Julia; two brothers, Charles Sekelsky and John Sekelsky and his companion, Lori Jordan, all of Stratford; his mother-in-law, Julia Obitz of Milford; his former sister-in-law, Linda Cavaliere of Bridgeport; two nieces, Kimberly Sekelsky of Stratford and Marie Donahue of Fairfield; and cousins, Rita and Richard Rife and Patricia Mitchell, all of Milford. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, 298 Second Hill Lane, Stratford. Interment will be private. friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make donations to a charity of choice.
